The DD25 was designed for 'quick & dirty' charity boatbuilding competitions. It can be built by two people in a week-end, and several have been built as projects by primary school pupils. |

Bwl 1276mm (4' 2 1/4"); draft 150/800mm (6"/2' 7 1/2"); sail area 6.21 + 2.4 sq metres = 8.612 sq metres (67 + 26 sq feet = 93 sq feet; displacement 524 kg (1155 lb) Construction is by normal ply on bulkheads and transom. Ten sheets of 6mm thick plywood are required which allows for doubling the bottom panel. A cuddy with sitting headroom and space for two to sleep is provided along with a self-draining cockpit with side lockers. The steel centreplate is pivoted on top of the case to permit easy removal and no underwater holes. Buoyancy is built-in under the cockpit and cuddy floor, and beneath the self-draining mast well in the bow. Rig is balanced lug fore sail and sprit boom leg o' mutton mizzen.
