The DK8 is distinctive in that it requires only one 2440 x 1220 mm sheet of 3 mm thick plywood for its construction making it a very economical method of getting a young paddler on to the water.
DD5 'Malin' 3310 x 760 mm, cockpit 480 x 560 mm
The DD5 has a double chine symmetrical hull with bottom panel curved across its width. Details of a small sailing rig are given on the plans. |
The DD17 sea kayak has a higher volume than the DK21.
The DK designs are built using the compounded ply method of construction where only the ends of the craft have to be sealed with glass-fibre tape and resin, while the DD designs are of stitch & tape construction where the full length seams are sealed as above.
